Virtualism EP Released

Posted by CreoMusic - June 30th, 2016

Well here it is, took me about half a year. Nothing too special, a few songs got scrapped in the process but I'm satisfied with how the rest turned out and learned a bunch of things. Hope you enjoy the whole thing! Have a nice weekend ;)

Great production values and sounds, but I feel like the songs don't really have a focus. Sometimes the bass line just kind of veers off on notes that feel random and the songs fall apart for a little bit. There are little pieces where I start to get into it, but then, it goes somewhere else and I lose it. It almost feels like you have lots of control of the sound, but you aren't quite sure what you want to make with that control. The songs are almost like combinations of little vignettes where you were trying out things.

BTW, was Carnivores inspired by Spectrum? That's my favorite Zedd song. Could hear a lot of that in Carnivores. That felt like your most successful song to me - maybe because you had a solid view of what you wanted to make ahead of time?

Overall, not bad, but I feel like, from what I've heard here, you could do some really amazing stuff if you focused in on some feeling and tried to push that to its limit. Make the music and production submit to the feeling you want to come across, rather than letting the production run the show.

Hey thanks, very valuable feedback in there.

Carnivores though was not inspired by Spectrum. It was actually the song that had the most work put into it simply because I had no idea what I wanted it to sound like and changed stuff an awful lot on that song. I'm glad that the result wasn't half bad though!

Not bad, fam.

So, I came in not expecting much, but HOLY CRAP YOU BLEW ME AWAY WITH THE FIRST TRACK.

And then I listened to the others and you proceeded to blow me away again and again. Amazing work.
